Keeping Cesar’s Legacy Alive!

Cesar Eduardo Gomez

8/13/1990 – 3/25/2018

Cesar Gomez was a young jockey full of love, life, and positivity. Dedicated to his passion, Cesar created a successful career for himself in the world of Quarter Horse racing. Although his passion was in racing, his love for others did not come second. His love for his life and that of others shone through his positive attitude and contagious smile; Cesar was a friend to all those around him. Despite his life being cut short, Cesar touched the lives of many individuals and continues to spread love and life through his legacy.

Cesar’s determination and dedication in horse racing paved the way to his short-lived career as a jockey in which he created a successful name for himself. His best year was in 2015, only a year after his initial start in the professional riding career. In 2015, he raced One Fabulous Eagle leading them both to a second-place finish in the All American Futurity.

On the evening of March 25th, 2018, Cesar Gomez lost his life in tragic plane crash while on his way back home to Oklahoma from a horse race. Cesar was only 27 when he passed away. In his memory, his family began Born 2 Ride; the mission of Born 2 Ride is to provide financial scholarships to deserving high school seniors entering college in the hopes to help others chase their dreams like Cesar had. Through this scholarship, Cesar’s legacy will continue inspiring generations to come.
